Cry    I miss my husband so much he is in the army reserve and they just got called to active duty for 13 months. i just watched him leave on a buss to Indiana and it was the hardest thing knowing how much he is going to miss out on his sons life he hasn't started to walk yet so my husband is going to miss his first steps there is so much it is going to be the longest year ever being away from him not knowing if he is okay , not being ale to hear his voice everyday and my son is so attached to him he is going to be heart broken when he wakes up and daddy is not there to play peek-a-boo with him there morning ritual. how do moms do it when there husbands leave for a year or longer? and does anyone know of any support groups in the las Vegas area for deployed spouses?

thats a good idea about support group for you.

i dont know about how it is to be married with someone in the army.

but i had an idea, maybe you should start filming everything the baby does and label it.   and take lots of picture.  i mean than you husband could see it all!   also you be the one to play PEEK a BOO! with the baby and you tell you baby stories about daddy and show him movies or pictures and IM SURE he will call!

BE STRONG!

Apr. 22, 2007 at 1:49 AM This saddens me to hear this. My heart goes out to you and your hubby and your little baby. There are lots of mom's on here who have experience with what you are going through. Best Wishes...I can listen , but My hubby is not in the military..

I think littleantonio's idea was a great one.  I think your husband would love to get pictures or videos of your son during his year away.  Hang in there.  It will seem easier after a while.  Hopefully time will move quickly.

Good luck

Apr. 22, 2007 at 2:22 AM Definitely littleantonio3's idea is great!  But, maybe also you could even get Dad to make a "peek a boo" video to send home to your little one!  Good Luck and I hope he gets to come home sooner than expected...that is an awfully long time!

Aug. 8, 2007 at 4:20 PM I am going through the same thing. My husband is Active in the Air Force. I had my son Aiden the 12th of April and my husband was off to Iraq two weeks later. he should be home some time in Nov. He was able to be here fo rthe birth becasue I was high risk. So I was gratfull god gave me that. but I have been video taping as much as possible and sending it, and MANY MANY pictures. We are stationed at Nellis, and I would love to chat it up with you. I have many other wifes as friend who also have young ones, and I know there is no technical Army base, we would love to have you around to talk or whatever you need! Feel free to vent to me. K? i hope all is well. Stay strong, your hubby is in my prayers. And I look forward to talking to you! ~Kristi Steele
