I am now the Adopted Momma of 2 guinea pigs.

When I was leaving the Park today I noticed a few cars in front of me going slow and stopped on the side of a road going through the park.  Once they saw me they went on ahead, and then I saw why they were going slow.

There were two Guinea Pigs on the side of the road.  I don't think the people in those cars were the ones to actually let them loose....but I'm not positive.  The poor things were just there on the side of the road, no one else around and they were scared.

I used to have 2 Guinea Pigs....they are wonderful pets.  I couldn't just leave these two there to die.  All they had to do was run in the road and someone not paying attn would have ran over them....not to mention cats, dogs, or large birds that could hurt them.

So....yeah, I picked them up and luckily had a 12 pack of drinks in the truck...so I emptied the drink cans into my truck and put them in the box, lol.  You could tell they were tame, they didn't try to run when I got them....but you could tell they were scared to death!

So, yeah....I bought them home and we now have 2 Guinea Pigs again.

I just can't believe someone would abandon to helpless creatures on the side of the road!  I know things are tough for people right now and things happen and we have to give up the animals.....but COME ON!  At least try to find them a new home or take them to a shelter.....SOMETHING!

A cat or dog can at least care for themselves somewhat....even though it is WRONG to let them loose too.  But, two little guinea pigs?!  If I hadn't of picked them up....and if someone else hadn't of SOON....they WOULD HAVE died.

UGH, some people.  Anyways, they are still very shy at this point but you can tell they are very tame and sweet as can be!

I am glad that you found them and now they have a happy home. kudos to you.

I had a guinea pig once, she was blind and I named her Helen, she was so sweet, I would hold her and sing "I'm in Helen, I'm in Helen, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak" LOL she would just make her little noises and snuggle under my neck. Unfortunately she had a tumor on her ovaries and before I caught it, she was too sick and they had to put her to sleep. I cried and cried. I miss my Helen. frown mini
