So my hubbys jaw and neck had been swollen for a while and after me nagging him for 2 months he finally goes to urgent care. There he was diagnosed as having and abscessed tooth. He was put on antibiotics and told to follow up with a dentist. he did so and again was told it was an abscessed tooth.  A week later he went to the ER because his face started to swell. They diagnosed him with a nd infected lymph node and said they didnt understand how he was diagnosed with an abscessed too since there was no sign of an abscess. He was then told to follow up with his primary care dr. at which time she drew blood and gave him a stronger antibiotic to fight the infected lymph node while they waited on the blood draw results to come back.  so a week goes by and he goes for another follow up with his dr and the results havent come back yet.  so she sends him home and in the mean time she calls here and asks to speek with him i told her that he hadnt gotten back yet. She said to have him call her imidietly when he gets in. He finally get home and I have him call her. SHe informs him that between the red cells and the white shes very concerned and tells him to go to ER right away for further testing.  He goes to the hospital and they decide to transport him to Washington Hospital Center. They do more blood work and suspect lymphoma. they do a biopsy of the lymph node in his neck and on tues we get the word that it non Hodgkin's lymphoma.  The oncologist an WHC doesnt understand why urgent care or even his first ER visit didnt send up red flags when he said that the swelling in his neck didnt hurt, that an infection that bad would have caused alot of pain. Since it wasnt causeing pain they should have suspected cancer then.

I just wanted to say your family is in our prayers and i understand what your going through as a family member. My sister had a cough and was sick for months and they kept telling her it was just a cold that wouldn't go away. Finally she changed doctors and was diagnosed with H. Lymphoma. At the same time my Father -in-law who already has many health issues was diagnosed with B. Lymphoma. So i understand how frustrating that can be. If you ever need someone to talk to your welcome to message me.
