Here's the deal;
I have lived apart from my husband for over 2 years now. We were stationed in Germany and I came home for a visit to discover I was pregnant. I had a complicated pregnancy and was not able to fly. After the birth of our son the Army would not let me return to Germany. Then my husband went to Iraq. He re-enlisted for Ft Riley, KS in December. He just got assigned to a unit there that is deploying to Afghanistan in the fall. So now, while my husband is in Iraq we are already preparing for another deployment. To make things worse, he has to do his reintegration in Germany and will only be in KS for about a month before deploying again. Dwell time for individual soldiers transferring units is currently only 90 days.
You may all think that I should just sit back and take it. I may even get bashed for all this but I don't care. I'm sick of being sad, now I'm just pissed. I'm taking this issue to congress. Not just for my own selfish wants but for all military wives who have ever had to be in this situation. So I am going to congress and trying to get dwell time to reflect each individual soldier. What do you think?

You go girl. And best of luck to you on this endeavour. Most everyone thinks that just because it's the government talking that there is nothing we can do about it. I hope you get something positive done. It's about time those 'rules' change. Again, good luck.
Best luck with it! I don't think you are asking too much but just a little more time with husband and the new baby.
I am a navy wife and kind of used to dh being gone and it doesnt bother me anymore. this is the life I signed up for. Goodluck though!
damn i'm sorry honii!!! i hope it goes well and i'll be here behind you!!! So does this mean you are no longer moving to KS?
hun you know i love you and im here for you as much as i can without walking in your shoes. I, in a way, know what you are going through. Im here for you whenever where ever! Ill see you tomorrow! Hugs and kisses from lil man and i! love you!
I totally support you in this. I really hate too when Navy or Air Force (even Marine) wives say they deal with it and signed up for it, so you should too.... when their hubby's MOST Of the time are not gone for more than 6 mo.... Im sure you wouldnt be as upset if that was the case.... but 15-18mo at a time, plus the Germany thing? Id give it a shot girl! Let us know how it goes!!!
I know you don't know who I am. I just came across this and I feel you 100 percent. I have seen hubby 4 weeks total since Dec of LAST year! AND they stationed us in freakin Italy...which wasn't even on our list of places we wanted to go. After we get to Italy he goes to Germany for a whole month..and then in Nov he is being deployed for a whole year. So I know where you are coming from. If you ever need to chat send me a message! I hope everything went well.
