WHAT THE HECK THIS IS ON MY SON.  He broke out into this rash yesterday  morning all over his body, he looked like he was sunburnt all over with huge welts.  By the time his dad got him to the doctors it was just about gone, and they looked at him like he was an over reactive parent and said that it was an allergic reaction to something, but what???  So they prescribed benadryl.  Last night before he went to bed he broke out again, with a different looking rash all over his face and torso, so i went and got the prescription filled and gave him the meds, went to bed he got up this morning and nothing was there, and after about 10 minutes of him being up he broke out in to the same welt looking rash that he first got.  Has anyone heard of such a thing???  I know if i call the doctors they will just pacify me like i'm nuts.  take a look and tell me what you think.THIS IS THE RASH HE GOT FIRST THING IN THE MORINING.....THIS IS THE SECOND RASH HE GOT BEFORE HE WENT TO BED.  Since friday of last week he has had a fever of 101 to 102, but that is about all, i havent changed any soap, or food, so i dont think it's an allergic reaction.  I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!This is what is happening right now!!!

My son got the same thing right after Hurricane Katrina.  The doctor called it Hives, yup an allergic reaction to something.  The only thing I could come up with is he came into contact with mold.  It didn't last long and went away by itself.

it for sure looks like an allergic reaction. He could have eaten something that he wasnt allergic to before but might be now or have you changed your laundry soap or fabric softner? There could be tons of things. If it's bothering him I would go with what lov3coach said...I hope he gets better

I had a rash like the first one after going to sleep one night, I woke up the next morning and that is exactly what my legs looked like. It was very itchy and burned. When I searched my room, I found that there were several mosquitoes that had gotten in the night before. Later on the welts went away and the rash was just red patches.

It does look like an allergic reaction to me.  If it goes away with the Benadryl, that is probably what it is.  Have you paid attention to foods he has eaten ?  My son used to do that when he ate peanut butter, or stuff with traces of peanuts in it.  Also, you didn't have to change any of your soaps and things for him to react, he could have just developed an allergy to them. I have 3 kids who are allergic to different things, and sometimes they will react, sometimes they won't,  and the child who tested the worst to Oak pollen is never bothered by the Oak tree, and the one who tested the least allergic to it, reacts every time she walks outside when the pollen is on it.  I know the fever is throwing you off some because you will get a rash with some viruses, but my son used to run a fever every time he had a reaction to something.  He was 11 when we finally had him tested and figured all of this out.  Let me know if you figure it out, I'm curious to see what it is.

Because of the rash and now fever I would assume that his body is fighting off something.  Avirus most likely.  My sisters kids have gotten strange rashes over the last 6 months or so.  she has taken her kids into see their pedi and they're usually not able to pin-point the cause or even what it is.  It should go away by itself.  Just keep a close eye on him like you are and make sure he's getting fluids.  It's no fun, poor little guy.
