Baby's Name: Monica Adalguisa (ah-da-lee-sah)

Baby's Due date: 3/17/09

Actual birth date and time: 3/6/09   9:18pm

Baby's Weight and Length: 7lbs. 9oz.   19 1/2 inches

Almost didn't make it! If I would've waited for my hubby, we would've had this baby in the car! My water broke at 7:50am and after showering and waiting for a bit b/c I wanted DH to drive me, I decided to go in with my FIL. We got thru the l&d door at 9:00am and I screamed - it was so unbearable all of a sudden. I was trying to sign in, but I couldn't finish it. Who knows when their birthday is when they're in that much pain?? I told the nurse I had to go bathroom, so I went in, couldn't pee, and realized it was that I wanted to push. I squated immediately b/c that's what I felt like doing, and I guess the nurse knew what I was doing b/c she immediately knocked on the door and told me to unlock it. I screamed again bloody murder b/c it is extremely painful to stand and walk and not push! The nurse took me to undress, put me on a bed, and checked me - she looked at the other nurse and said, "Grab a side - She's ready!" and they wheeled me to a labor room.

So my poor FIL must have been scared or worried to death b/c I had screamed so loud twice, but now that they were wheeling me somewhere and I was on the bed, I just waited for my next contraction. No one had time to look at my chart, so my doctor was rambling off all of the typical questions he's have to know, and I'm trying to answer, but I'm just worried - where is DH?

My hubby is driving like a maniac! He was 40 minutes away at work when my water broke, and the roads were trecherous. He said he was passing everyone and slipping and fishtailing like crazy, but he wasn't going to miss his daughter being born. He got to the hospital probably ten minutes after I did, ran into the labor room where they had just wheeled me, and was there for the birth at 9:18am - 18 minutes after I checked in!

Anyway, uncomplicated birth, beautiful girl...so glad we were not in the car!

wow girl, that is a story to tell:) congratulations on the new baby girl....:) Godbless:) glad that dad was on time:)
