Okay already!!! I am a mother of three wonderful children, however I have a 15-month old son who refuses to detach himself from my ever so comforting breast. He screams and he falls out, he has a tantrum like the world will end in seconds, COME ON. I've never experienced such expressive behavior from my two girls when they were being weaned. Perhaps it's a male thing, I'm unsure.

The breastfeeding marathon has to end, sure he sleeps mostly through the night, but the breast attachment, ahhh!!!!! He eats "big people food", you know what I mean, and has the nerve to yell for the breast before every meal, yeah...... I know....maybe I am to blame for this; after-all I am THE PARENT, but what should I do?  I want to break it down to him easy, you know. I don't want to hurt his ever so delicate feelings, he's such a cutie, but...... a mom has to do what a mom has to do. I'm kicking my little guy to the curb; not physically though, just detaching.........there's one problem though......I don't know how.....any advice? Anyone....somebody...please reveal the secret to getting myself back.

Oh...I feel ya!  My oldest son was that way---except he REFUSED to eat any solid foods.  Seriously,  this kid was 18 months old,  would take the food into his mouth to taste it,  then spit it back out.  He was a breast baby all the way.

However,  I was tired of BF.  So,  we went cold turkey.  For both of us,  it was three days of hell...he was screaming because he was hungry,  I was engorged (because he was exclusively BF,  there was a lot of milk there!)...it wasn't a happy scene.  After three days,  it got better.  You just gotta tough it out.

BTW--no nasty comments.  I was working a full-time job,  doing the overnight shift,  exhausted beyond belief,  and the BF had to go.
