Today, I swallowed my pride and sent my ex husband an email updating him about our daughter and sending some recent pics. This is not the first time I have attempted to keep him in the loop, but this is the first time he responded! I haven't sent an update in a while because I was hoping that it would initiate some level of contact from him towards Michelle. Well, second time is a charm, I guess.
I remind myself that he has been the one who refused to establish any contact with Michelle over these last 2 yrs. I believe it was Easter 2007 when he and Michelle last spoke over the phone. There have been sporradic emails between he and I, often griping at one another about other things (primarilly getting our divorce situated), but never anything about Michelle up until recently.
I am hoping that he will see that I am making an effort. And perhaps this will promt him to make a similar effort.
(deep in the back of my mind, I am thinking "Yeah, and monkeys will fly out of my butt!")
Sit back and see how this plays out, I guess.
***ETA***
I have not told him that I am in contact with his first wife. I wil never tell him. I contacted her so Michelle can get to know her older sisters. While there is some guilt over knowing about his older daughters, it is not my place to give him his first wife's contact info. That is between her and him. She has made it clear that she is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE with him knowing her where-abouts, and I will respect that choice.

People can grow. Over time the bitterness often mellows and people can move on with their lives. Good luck!
