Would you believe that I don't plan these political posts of mine ahead of time? Um, yeah, I guess you would believe that now that I think about it. Anyway, I've started sitting down at my computer early every weekday morning and tapping in to my inner strangeness.
Hmmm...civil servants...we aren't using this term correctly. We should make all our politicians in elected positions work REAL JOBS for at least half their work week. We could assign them jobs (we are their bosses) like working in soup kitchens, working in day cares and working in schools as classroom aids. This would give them a better understanding of how the rest of us (I think they currently refer to us as the stupid masses) in the real world live. Maybe then they could be more effective and less likely to screw us over. Plus, we would probably get better candidates since they wouldn't mind hard work (picture Nancy Pelosi wiping noses in one of her designer suits and high heels).
And...I think that all politicians should be required to do all their own driving and grocery shopping. This definitely includes pumping their own gas and loading their own groceries in and out of their vehicle. This alone would keep the overly rich and obnoxious segment of our society from even running for office.
And finally, politicians should be required to have all their own children in public schools. This should help to give them the incentive they need to quit wasting money on too many administrators. They would see the wisdom of spending this money on teachers and people who actually work with our children.
Incidentally, I could do all the above things if elected to a political office so I don't think it's asking too much. Do you?
