so writing helps me keep my sanity! my 33 month old daughter is very stubborn... she knows she is supposed to go in the potty. she seems to like peeing/ especially pooping in her pants. we have been potty training for over a year now and seem to have gotten pretty far... but there are ppl doing it in 3 DAYS, so that's not much comfort for me. POOPY IS HER WORSE PROBLEM. will not poop in the pot. so i decided to give this 3 day method a try... only prob being that kira is pretty much trained, and knows she is supposed to go in the potty... so i wasn't quite as strict, didn't go as far as sitting in one room with her, but i stayed on top of it...

I recently got her dora and elmo panties. she peed herself bunches of times the first day (sat.) I kept explaining that if she tells mommy she has to go, she can go on the potty and keep dora/ or elmo dry... and bonus, get 2 m&ms. (stickers don't work for her, neither does money, really) at the end of sat she told me she had to go, and we made it to the potty. she was so proud and so was I. (mind you, a few months ago i thought we had it and she was telling me when she had to pee... then she regressed. prob cuz i didn't have her in real undies, still pull-ups) We got her m&ms, and she was very excited.

on Sun we got up in the am, went pee, and had breakfast. I reminded her of our deal... "if you tell mommy you have to go potty, and then pee or poop in the toilet, mommy will give you some m&ms... but YOU have to TELL mommy BEFORE you go. your pants have to stay dry. And if mommy has to remind you, you DON'T get any candy. YOU tell mommy."  sun mornin we went to my friend brandie's house... in undies.  (we were prego together and our daughters are 2 wks apart) we had NO ACCIDENTS at all that day. had  do silly things like "kira, mommy has to go potty... can you bring me" and she would then tell me she had to go after i was done... kinda cheating on "not asking them" but i don't care. whatever works works. I would say this seemed like good progress. right before bedtime she hid in the corner and i smelled what i thought was poop... i picked her up (against the dr orders... 34 wk prego) and sprinted to the potty and sat her down on it. to my surprise she hadn't went in her panties yet, and plopped right in the potty. she was very very excited about this, and i'm not sure why. she knows that she has to poop, and runs away to poop herself, but when i basically MADE her go in the potty she was excited that she went in it. I told her from now on we need to make poopy in the potty. sun night after story time she told me she to go pee. so we got up and went pee again...

mon we were home all day... NO PEE ACCIDENTS! at naptime she pooped and took her pants and pull-up right off... she obviously didnt want to sit in poop for some reason (which the day before wouldnt have phased her) so i wiped her butt and put a pull-up on her and she napped... after nap NO ACCIDENTS at all! and she was telling me when she had to go. (i didn't have to do silly "mommy has to go potty, can you take me?" things)

now its tues and i've had to remind kira by saying i had to go potty. no accidents so far... but it's only ten am.

this all seems very hopeful but she has progressed and regressed so much that i am not going to get my hopes up that she is pretty well on her way to being fully trained. we will see with time... and when the new baby arrives, i hope to God she doesn't regress!
