If your dog was missing and you posted missing ads in various places for instance..  Someone replies to you saying they saw a dog matching the description, only it had been hit and killed by a car..

Would you want someone to tell you?  I try to answer missing ads like this if I have seen pets matching the description.. I feel like I would want to know.  I would rather know than continue to wonder where, how and with who my pet was with...

I recently had to do this.. while I am not 100% sure at any given point (I dont get out and look at the dog) I am fairly certain with what I have seen and what the owner said about the dog..

I always feel bad to have to tell them this news but I try to think about if one of my dogs got out and suffered the same fate..  I would hate not knowing...

The not knowing is horrible. At least that way you can have closure, if that makes sense.

I'd want to know so I could go and look at the bosy and bring it home to bury or say goodbye if that was the case. If that wasn't possible, I would still want to know, but would still keep checking shelters and posting ads until it was completely useless and I was sure I did all I could.
