I Talked to Dr Laura Today!!!

I talked to Dr Laura today!

The conversation with Trent this morning about his dad had me thinking. I don't like talking about "the rope around daddy's neck"...it doesn't feel right to me to talk to him like that, to have him thinking that way.

So...I called Dr Laura! I am on this "Dr Laura kick" right now, and I figured that since I listen to her show so much, am on a quest to own every one of her books, and value her opinion so much, I should just call her!!!

So, I did. She told me to tell him some of the things that I have already told him. When he has asked me "why" I have told him that "daddy was sick in the head, and he didn't take care of his sickness and it made him really sad..." which is pretty much what she told me to tell him. And she told me that telling him the HOW wasn't relevent. So, I am not going to go over that part of it with him anymore. Not until he's old enough to understand it more.

I feel good about talking to her. I really respect her and agree with her on so many things! And I love how "to the point" she is!!! The only thing that bothered me was that she did interrupt and didn't really let me get out my question...I was mostly concerned about him already knowing that his dad hung himself. But she just said "that is irrelevent"...so I guess that just means, don't talk about that part anymore and say that he was sick in the head....

I am watching a thing on E! about Anna Nicole Smith, then I'm gonna go clean the walls!!
