This is a common response to anyone that disagrees with a President's point of view or policy. You just hate him because (insert whatever fits here.)
I do not know President Obama. I do not know if I hate him or not. Obviously I do not agree with the majority of his policies- but that is a given. His ideals and mine are very different. However, I am allowed to have those ideas and I am allowed to express them. That is one of the things that make this country so great- and one of the reasons our country works so well. :0)
In reality, President Obama intrigues me. He went from a nobody to the most powerful man in 2 years. The world knew nothing of him until he began campaigning... he is a perfect example of what any American is capable of! His abilities are stunning- he knows his strenths and he plays upon them well. He is a very intelligent man- he has strong ideals- again, many of which I don't agree with. But because we don't agree- does that mean he hates me? :0)
Our President symbolizes what makes our country the best- and his ideas (whether they end up helping or hindering our country) are what the majority voted for. Will this stop me from voicing my opinions? No.
I wish President Obama all the best. Honestly, I really do include him in my prayers- and not out of spite! :0) He needs a strong hand and lots of guidance in leading our country. All of our leaders past, present and future, will need this help and guidance. My only hope is that he really does have the best interest in our country at hand- and I will continue to diligently remain active in my role as a citizen. Believe me- I'm right there on the edge for anyone that is supposed to be representing us as a people.
Finally, I am not an extremest. I do not normally jump on a bandwagon with out significant cause. It is a lot of work- and frankly, I have 3 young children to take care of. I pick a choose my battles carefully. If I write about something- it isn't willy-nilly. I think long and hard prior to putting my thoughts down. I try to think about, not just what I'm being told- but what may or may not happen as a result.
I love my country. I'm proud of where I come from and what I am- and I want my children to grow up feeling and believing the same. I respect the office of the President more than I can say... what it represents is a powerful thing. This doesn't mean that I have to belive everything that comes from there- he is after all, just a man. :0)

I'm glad you post things to think about regarding the current administration! It makes me think, it helps me learn, it's a good thing!
well put.
It's sad cause we don't agree with everything he does were racist peopel who hate him.
I pray for him too. He has two little girls and I pray that he sees that his daughters will suffer even if he is rich and powerful if this nation loses its freedom.

Carmin, I wish all could be as respectful as you. I've heard too many say they will never call him their president (I called Bush my President... because, um, he WAS, like it or not), and that they hate him and even heard people wish he'd die or get killed.
I wish everyone could share the sentiment of, "I may not agree with him or his ideals, but I don't hate HIM and can respect the office he holds."
