Okay mom's I need your help on this one. Please vote Popular so I can hear what the entire mom's think. My husband got laid off Tuesday. He was the one who paid almost all the bills with. I work full time AND go to college full time.

Over SIX MONTHS ago I made reservations at the Hampton Inn in Gutenberg, TN, for an employee rate room (I work for a Hampton). They book up fast and if I was to cancel it would be another 6 months before another room becomes available under the rate. This Friday is our 5thyear wedding anniversary. Employee rate rooms are only able to book 2 queens and so the owner of my hotel (also my good friend) talked the manager of that hotel go let us have the king w/fireplace & a balcony w/creek view. I mean this is a really good room for the cost of $29 a night!! I do not plan to be working for this company past August this year, so this is the only chance to get this room and this price. Plus she was able to get us tickets to Wonderworks Dinner Theater for FREE!

The problem is my husband got laid off. (You can read about it if you want... http://www.cafemom.com/journals/read/1423079/The_Dividing_Point_Blood_vs_Marriage ) He cannot find a job because no one is hiring. Knoxville lost over 5 major companies so there are around 30,000 plus people looking for a job too! He has NO high school degree and NO GED! His chance of finding a job is next to impossible!

Well 3pm has past and I have made my choice. We are still going to Gatlinburg tomorrow. Thanks for your support ladies.

It sounds like a really good deal. I would go, have a good time but don't go crazy with overspending. Sorry to hear about your husband and I hope he finds work soon. Maybe he can use this oportunity to get his GED? Congratulations on 5 years! That's really something these days :)
