Time and time again, we here just how dangerous Cheerleading is...Do u beleive? Are u worried about putting ur daughter in Cheer Camp? Or do you think that Cheering has the same or less risks as any other sport?
This looks painful :(

It all depends on how you look at it. The way I see it, we take risk by walking out of our front doors.
If I had a daughter and she wanted to cheer, I'd let her. Heck, I'm willing to let my boys play football, and actually looking forward to it if they do. What fun is life without risky fun now and then?
I too agree, but I know a nurse who said that when she does see cheerleading "accidents" come in that they are BAD.
I wouldn't care if they had like a padded mat or something underneath them. Why take a risk that isn't necessary?
All sports have these types of risks. My son plays hockey. It's a very dangerous sport. When we attended a free skate, someone fell on the ice and broke their leg. Thank God no one skated over his fingers when he fell. And that was just a free skate---no checking or puck action. I felt sorry for him.
You can get hurt doing anything. I think if a child wants to participate in a sport the advantages far outweigh the risks.
If my daughters wanted to cheer I would support them. I broke my ankle doing ballet, how much safer and slow can you get then ballet? I think safety is an issue but that is what proper training and practice is for. Accidents happen, that is why they are not called on purposes.

I honestly think that all sports in some way have there dangers, i was watching a video on this type of thing. There was a man who was boxing and he ended up having a stroke. A man who was playing foodball and ended up paralysed, a woman who was doing cheerleading and fell on her head and caused her to be paralysed, I also see a baskeball player have a stroke because fell on the back of his head when he was in in mid air, there was plenty of more things i seen and I really want my daughter in cheerleading because i think it is a fit sport as well as basketball and soccer, but it scares the crap out of me.
