The icing on the cupcake....

my opinions sprinkled with your thoughts

I can't tell you how many times I hear my husband ask me that very question!

" I can't get this thing to work"

"Did you read the manual?"

"No..."

"My pictures turn out all blurry...I hate this camera"

"Did you read the manual?"

"Nooo...!"

So why would our manual for life be any different? Most of us are given a "manual"  very early on. Sometimes as early as at the baby shower that was thrown for our mother when she was expecting. Maybe we recieved it at our Baptism...

Why do we treat it like stereo instructions? Why do we figure we can just shelf it with the rest of our books and just fly through life figuring things out on our own?

I have realized quite recently through various conversations with my husband (who reads his manual daily) and with friends, that apparently I need to take a breath and do some reading...maybe then some things in my life will "work right". I am guilty of just trying to wing it through life without reading the instructions God has laid out for me.

A long time ago I saw a quote on a sign outside a tiny little church. This quote has stuck in my head (although I haven't followed it...)

"A Bible that is falling apart most likely belongs to someone who's life is not."

What about you...what does your Bible look like?
