Katie's Own Little Bubble

Well, Elizabeth will be 4 on June 27th.  She has be on the binkie since she was born, thanks in part to the nurses in the maternity wing of the hospital.  We moved into my mothers house when she was 2 and my mom did not want to hear her cry, so we just left things as they were.  This past winter I decided it was past time to get rid of the damn thing.  We had planned a vacation to Denver and found out my mom was going to Florida.  We came back Wednesday and put our plan into action.  We have gone two nights with no binkie!

The first night was easy.  I just told her we lost them and she was a big girl now.  She went straight to sleep.  And only woke up briefly in the night.

Then last night.  She cried and cried.  I laid next to her and sang to her.  I gave her, her babies and told her I loved her.  She said I love you too.  I asked if she would be okay and she said yes.  She went to sleep easily then.  She woke up once in the night and would not stop crying so I laid next to her and stroked her hair and talked to her.  She fell back asleep.

Tonight will be night three.  According to what I have read and heard, it takes approximately three nights to break them.  So keep your fingers crossed for Elizabeth.  We will beat this.

3 nights.....hmmm Briar was 4 and all 6 pacys got  "lost"...she spent a good half hour everynight looking for 1, under the bed, couchs, in toy boxes..HAHA! Took about 2 weeks before she stopped looking. She was hard to breck from it. I started by not letting her have it outside the house, not even outside in the yard and it was summer so she was outside alot.

I hate to admit this......my daugher has ONE left ! Supernanny has a whole routine about the Binkie Fairy coming. You can tie them to a tree, or mail them. In the am, the kids wake up, and the fairy has came with a present, and took the binky.

OOPPSS, I haven't tried it? It's just for bedtime. Good luck !! :)

I cut the tips of all my oldest son's binkies when he was almost 3.

They are broken.

Good Luck!
