Well, Kenny played at the bar last night, the first time in three week, since he was diagnosed with kidney disease. He was feeling absolutely great on Monday, and then started going downhill from there. When I met him at the bar last night he even admitted that he had no business being there. But, he carried on. Until the middle of the first set, that is. I knew when he sat down to play afer the second song that he wasn't gonna make it thru the night. After about the fifth song, he called a break and all the band members gathered around him. He had almost passed out. He was all cold, sweaty and clammy and could barely walk. We sat him down at a table, and he rested for a while. I told him he was not driving and he was coming home with me, but he didn't want to leave his truck there as he had some equipment in it. So we got the guys to take it out and leave it in the bar. Then he changed his mind as we walked out and told me he was gonna drive and follow me home. I had to yell at him in the middle of the parking lot to get him to come with me...he was in no shape to drive!

So we were gonna go back to the bar anyway tonight, if he was gonna play again. But he had me take him this afternoon so he could go see his doctor, and they won't play again tonight. I think he's just pushing himself way too hard and he is just so stubborn! I really hope they can figure out a "final diagnosis" soon and do something for him.

Such a typical thing for an "independent" person to do. It's more so with men...My thoughts are with you, I'll be praying that he comes to realize that he "needs" to take it easy...
