Hello, Ladies!  :0)

I hope everyone is doing well.  I wanted to post a little update on Jerry and the progress he is making at school!

We received his quarterly report on Friday.  I am very excited because although we have been seeing progress in his daily life, this is the first time that it has actually shown up on paper!  His report says that he has mastered 6 of his objectives, and is close to getting 2 more!  YAY!  His teacher says she enjoys having him in her class.  :0)

The report includes a list of short term objectives for Jerry.  I will not post them all, but here are the ones he has been working on and has mastered:

1* Jerry will be able to tolerate hand over hand assistance in spoon feeding himself.  He will tolerate 80% of his lunch being hand over hand spoon fed for ten days in a row.  (He is at 90% on this one!)

2* Jerry will be able to throw a ball at least 3 feet away from his own body.  He will use any size ball.  He will do this three times per day for 10 days in a row at 80% accuracy.  (He is at 80% on this one ~ this is very recent)

3*Jerry will be able to extend a toy to a person upon request and release it from his grasp.  He will do this with minimal assistance 80% of the time for 10 days.  (He has had to work hard for the second part of this one.  He just doesn't want to let go of it lol!  He is at 80%)

4*Jerry will be able to identify familiar people by using an eye gaze and only offering 2 choices at a time.  The familiar people will be his family, peers in his class and his teachers.  He will be able to identify ten people at 80% accuracy for 10 days in a row.  (80%)

5* Jerry will be able to tolerate hand over hand assistance to put one toy away at the end of a play time.  He will tolerate the hand over hand assistance 80% of the time for 10 days in a row.  (80%)

6*Jerry will be able to put one toy away the end of play time with minimal assistance.  He will complete this at 80% accuracy for 10 days in a row.  (80%)

I can't really tell from the report which are the other 2 that he is close to mastering.  It shows 10 objectives continuing, 2 not initiated, and 1 discontinued.  (Discontinued: Jerry will be able to indicate his presence when roll call is taken in the beginning of class time....)  When asked if he is at school, he usually shakes his head back and forth as if to say "No" lol  :0)

So what do you ladies think?  I would love to hear your thoughts on Jerry's objectives, his progress, any advice you may have to offer us ~ and progress reports of your own!

HUGS
