Today is my second day of quitting smoking cold turkey style! I am still soo proud of myself, but this is really tough. No wonder I've never attempted it before. Well, I just wanted to jot down a few things that will help me rationalize with myself. I can't seem to get smoking off of my mind, so might as well do something constructive with it. DON'T GIVE IN, DON'T GIVE IN, DON'T GIVE IN!!!

*My mom was a smoker. She smoked during her pregnancy with me, smoked while [trying to] nurse me. She smoked in the house since she had her own place, and that didn't change when I was born. When I was 11, I started stealing cigarettes from her pack. When I was 12, I started stealing packs out of the cartons she kept in the buffett. WhenI was 13, she found out, didn't care, and gave them to me. I DON'T WANT THIS TO EVER BE A REALITY FOR MY CHILDREN! I do put part of the blame of me smoking on my mother, but I forgive her. Don't judge/bash for what happened years and years ago. We have a great relationship now.

*Not pregnant, I smoked about 10 cigarettes per day. When I found out I was pregnant with my first, I cut down to about 5 per day. When I found out I was pregnant with this baby, I immediatley cut down to 3 per day. I have NEVER gone a day without a cigarette. NEVER attempted to quit. I look at the statements I just made and feel guilt. My children do not deserve that. I should not be so greedy that I endanger them for me to get a fix. I'm done being selfish. From now on, it's all about my children.

*I do not like to be judged. Smokers are judged and rightfully so. It's a disgusting habbit. It makes you stink, your house stink, your car stink. It's not worth it anymore. I don't need to cover it up. I don't need it to be there at all.

I QUIT!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Me and my hubby quit smoking almost 3 months ago "cold turkey style" like you! You can do it.

You should check out quitnet.com. You can put in your info and that site will tell you how much money you are saving, how many hours, days years of your like your are saving and how many cigarettes you HAVE NOT smoked. It is pretty cool and keeps you motivated. They also have helpful info on there too.
