Supplies
1. Computer
2. Printer
3. Cardboard box
4. Scissors (box cutter would be nice too)
5. Hot glue gun
6. Hot glue sticks
7. Cotton balls
8. Fabric
9. Ribbon (allow at least 12inches of ribbon per letter)
Steps
1. Open your word program and type your child's name, using a new page per letter in their name.
2. Highlight all the pages by pressing the [Ctrl] button and the [A] button at the same time.
3. Change the font size to 500. (You will have to manually type 500 in the font scroll down box)
4. Microsoft Office 2007-Click on the Font launcher it's the triangle in the bottom left hand corner of the Font group. Select the effect Outline then click ok.
5. Microsoft Works Word Processor-Right click and chose Font from the menu select the option Outline then click ok.
6. Print
7. Cut out your printed letters careful cutting out the holes in letters such as A. To maintain the integrity of the letter.
8. Place the letter on cardboard and trace each letter off three times per one finished letter. Do this to end up with a letter that is roughly ½ an inch in thickness.
9. With a hot glue gun, sandwich together three of the same letters to make a thicker letter.
10. Put a dab of glue on each cotton ball (kind of pull apart the cotton ball to make a smoother base).
11. Cut the fabric slightly bigger than your letter securing the stretched fabric with glue and cut off the excess fabric at the back.
12. Cut the ribbon to the desired length. Fold the ribbon in half, securing the middle with glue. Using the two ribbon ends tie a big bow and hang on nails on the wall.
Have fun let me know how they turn out.
