Q? For those with 6 month old babies??

I am wondering what is the size for your child's head. I am making a mommy to be a hat for winter as a gift, and have no idea what size a baby's head ranges from at the age of 6 months. Any help would be great =).

We just had our 6mo. check-up (on the 13th) and my son's head was around 17 1/2 inches.
