Why do I say this? Let me tell you something. My four year old, Miss M, is very uncoordinated. She has little core strength. (It has to do with her lack of movement in a baby sling her first 10 months of life in Guatemala) With that said, even getting her to exercise (like the trampoline, or doing some kind of kid friendly/fun sit-up) hasn't helped as much as I had hoped it would.
Miss M wanted to ride a bike with no training wheels. I was doubtful to say the least. But it is always worth a try. So yesterday was a second attempt, the first attempt was just oh so wrong! So as I was trailing behind her, holding onto her shoulders or neck, I realized her body kept leaning to one side, as her butt was leaning the other way. It just set off more flags for me that she was overcompensating because of her poor core strength. After I sat down, I said out loud, "I have no faith that she will be able to do this today."
But she kept trying, and falling, and trying, and falling, and falling and falling. Then after 15 minutes, she did it!! She took off for about 25 yards and then of course, fell again. BUT SHE DID IT!!! I have never been so happy to be sooooo wrong!!
So you go Miss M. Can't wait to see you on that bike today!

Don't give up! Thats great!
Hey have you thought about kid yoga? It really helps core strength and balance. Its really very easy and she could have so much fun that she doesnt even realize she is exercising. There are lots of videos for kids. I do it with my kids sometimes and it also makes them calmer. :)
GO GIRL!! My kids never cease to amaze me or teach me that anything is possible if you want it bad enough!
