I figure with all the women/moms in here someone might have some personal experience with this. If you know a child with this what were the early and ongoing symptoms experienced, and at what ages. What sort of testing and treatment did you try and what worked.
I took my daughter (she's 2 years 3 months old) to the dr this morning after she woke up complaining of knee pain and would not walk on it. Occasionally she wakes up complaining her "legs" hurt and cries for a few minutes, but then it goes away and she's fine. This morning it lasted for more than 2 hours, so off to the drs we go. After we get there she starts walking a bit but is still favoring, limping her leg and she can point to where it hurts. The dr is concerned that it could possibly be RA but it requires a blood test and she is so traumatized by her previous dr's visits that I do not subject her to it today since this was not her normal dr. We are just monitoring her for awhile to see how often it happens and when.
We are also moving this weekend and I have so much on my plate at this moment that I can't help but feel I don't have time for this! lol... I know that's terrible, but I'm really just hoping it's growing pains and I don't have to deal with it anymore. How terrible is that!
I did take her to the dr a few months ago because she seemed "tender" to me, it seems like if I touched her sometimes, in a certain way she would complain of pain. They did do blood tests to see if she was anemic and they came back fine. So now I'm wondering if that is related to these symptoms she's having now.
Anyway, if anyone has experienced this or knows someone who has, can you please tell me your experiences? I'm wondering if I should just worry about her or hope it's growing pains!
