Does your home show off who you are? Could people take a look around and have some idea of your interests, your occupation, your style?
Mine doesn't. Mostly due to the fact I haven't had much money to decorate it yet, and partly because I never thought about making the home "friendly". It has always been about making it functional (typical scientist, LOL).
One thing that is definately missing from my house is decor that indicates a scientist lives there. Suddenly, this morning, it occurred to me there is very little to show a musician (my husband) is residing there as well. I plan to take this into account as I re-decorate the living room this year (as we continue our 4+ year remodeling event).
Cafe Sheri has given me this inspiration with her bird posts - Bird Decor for your Home , Templates for Kid's Artwork , and the Bird Wall Mural (my favorite). Although I am not a "nature Scientist" by trade, I have a strong love of nature and plan to use natural colors and themes throughout the home. But I need to add more than just nature. I need a little astronomy, chemistry, molecular biology and earth science, too.

As for my husband and his love of music? I'll need some help incorporating that into my science & nature theme. If you have any suggestions, I would LOVE to hear them!

Wow some of those thigns look really cool. Be sure to take before and after pictures! My home has hardly no decoration in it at all. If you look around all you will be able to tell is my bf like his 360 and I have 13 kids (which is really a 2 yr old..lol) I really need to do something with my place...but I do not have that "eye" for style...blah..Good luck with your remodeling!
