alot of ppl say they have wittnessed food stamp fraud or another type of fraud connected to public assistance.  well standing by and doing nothing is just as bad as being the one that is doing it.  food stamps are important in many different ways.  they feed children that otherwise may not get enough food to be raised healthy.  One of the most comon ways FS fraud is commited is by FS being sold.  and it happens more than you notice.  *How is it done?---the person with a food stamp card mat be out of cash so they decide to sale thier FS.  they let someone else use the card to purchase (ex) $50 worth of food.  then they would get $25 in cash(half of whatever was spent in FS)  there are other ways for fraud to be commited.  So what can you do about this?  report it..........

Report Public Assistance Fraud

Public Assistance Programs are funded by state and federal funds to help people through difficult times in order to get them back on the road to self-efficiency. After eligibility has been determined, help is provided through MO HealthNet, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Food Stamps, Child Care Allowance, Energy Assistance and other similar programs. When an applicant becomes eligible for public assistance, he/she agrees to follow certain rules. Failure to abide by those rules may be a violation of state and/or federal law!

Cases of suspected fraud should be reported IMMEDIATELY!

Remember! Everyone suffers from Public Assistance Fraud.

I agree that it should be reported.  But, honestly, the person who witnesses it and doesn't speak up is WORSE than the person committing the crime?  I disagree.

yes well you are just as bad........but for you I will change the wording.  it's the same as seeing any other crime being commited and ignored.

I agree that you should report it which is what I did..I can't stand people that take advantage of the system when there are tons of people out there who really need it and can't get it because of the people who are taking advantage of it. It makes me sick..and its the innocent children who are suffering most of the time.
