Ladies,

normally I don't even bother giving articles like this a second glance but since having Deborah Newman   http://www.teatimeforyoursoul.com speak at our February MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers) meeting and reading her book 'Comfortable in your own skin' Making peace with your body image. I've started looking at cover models & celeb pics in a different light Though don't misunderstand me, I really don't pay attention to them much..  Not all of the celebs are pleased that they have their photo shoot done and then b/c they don't look "perfect" (OK so who does, I mean really!) the guys in charge airbrush a lil from here, trim the edges there, stretch a lil bit here, & then soften a bit just for good measure.

look closely at the picture of Kim and you'll notice that the pic on the Left is true to life & the pic on the Right *her leg skin has been lightened &  airbrushed smooth,  they've "shaved" a bit from the crook of her arm to make it look slimmer.Who knows what else they did that we're so jaded by that we don't even notice (IE..color of eyes, extra lashes, degi-tan/pale out.)

I saw a similar picture of Faith Hill where they completely altered her picture and "trimmed" her down to have more appeal, it was presented to us by Dr. Newman.  I admitt I really didn't notice the diffrence between the 2 pics until she pointed out on thing and then all these changes just sort of 'popped out' at us.

NO WONDER WE HAVE BODY IMAGE ISSUES!

REMEMBER: God made us just the way He wanted to  & "You formed me in my mother's womb.  I praise you, so wonderfully you made me; wonderful are your works!  My very self you knew; my bones were not hidden from you, When I was being made in secret, fashioned as in the depths of the earth."  PSALMS 139:13-15
