There is one man, a good samaritan who needs to be acknowledged as well. For those who haven't heard, when he heard the shots, ran towards them not away. He reached one of the two downed officers and without reservation, took off his coat and applied it to his head and began doing CPR. How selfless he is to go into such a situation without hesitating to try to save their lives. He didn't know where the shots were coming from, and yet he still ran to their aide. The Oakland police recognized him as a hero as well...and I agree wholeheartedly, and hope that more people commend him for his bravery.
Please, keep these officers and their families in your thoughts and prayers; and say a prayer for all the men and women who put on their uniforms and go out to protect us each and everyday.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving these men the honor they deserve. I didn't realize that your husband was a police officer as well. It's a brave, amazing person who puts themself into harms way and they don't get enough credit for the hard work they do. I don't understand the lack of respect that people have for the men and women in blue. I could go on for days about it. My heart aches for the familes of the fallen. I can't imagine the sadness and loss they must be feeling. I understand the fears that you have to a degree because Craig too has a dangerous job, but fortunately, I don't worry about WHO he may come across, but WHAT.
I know that I may live in all the way in Texas, but I want to say thank you to your husband for the work he does everyday. You have every right to be proud of him. And I hope and pray that you never have to face a situation like that.

I drove down 880 today after the memorial services had taken place after the exit had been cleared and I still couldn't help but feel sad for those 4 men and wishing the best for their families
