I must admit I have horrible road rage, I really didn't think too much about until my son turned 2. He mimics everything, as most kids do. Everytime we get behind a slow driver, or someone whips out in front of me I hear a "STUPID!" coming from the back seat
Although it doesn't seem like such a bad thing, I really have tried to stop my anger while he's with me. 1. It's showing him that little tantrums are ok, 2. His mom shows little self-control, so why should he?, and 3. People are stupid. I don't want him to be in the store and yelling "stupid" at people. So, road rage DOES influence kids at least to some degree
According to the American Automobile Association, they've been increasing by 7% per year since 1990. That just proves that generetions seem to be passing it down. There's an estimated total of 1,800 reported incidents of violent road behavior in the U.S. in 1996, About 21% reported having been run off the road and 18% have been physically threatened by another driver.
Being mad at an idiot driver is one thing. People are taking their road rage to far, we have to remember we've all drove shitty at one point or another, old people have to get places too, and not everyone wants to speed. Remember your kids are watching you no matter what their age, they understand when you're mad and 3 out of 4 times they will react the same when they drive.

I have a really bad habit of say "What are you Retarded?" at other drivers. Not only am I showing my almost 4 y/o my road rage I am being politically incorrect. I've tried cutting back but it still slips out now and then.
So far I've never heard her repeat it, but she does like to yell 'Go!' when she thinks we've been stopped at a light to long. My husband almost ran a red b/c of it a few days ago.
