My husband isn't TOTALLY stupid, after all, he married me... but here's his latest "man-trum".

So he takes our old grill apart to clean it. Fine. All goes well until he starts putting it back together. The two "swing-away shelves" in the hood are giving him grief. He CANNOT get them in for love or money! He works on this for nearly two hours, reducing him to a cursing, sweating, wild-eyed madman. In the meantime, I went into the house and got the directions, (unread since we bought the grill 3 years ago, naturally) and read how to install the shelves.

So I tried to tell him, "Honey, if you insert this wire here..."

"YOU don't know anything about it!" He says. "This is MY grill and I'LL put it back together, or I'll know the reason why."

"Okay, fine. Suit yourself, whatever..."

Another half hour and he throws down the grates and stalks out of the garage. I picked them up and put them in they way they were supposed to go. I followed him into the house and told him the shelves were in and he could go do whatever he was  planning to do now.

He says, "But I JUST LEFT!"

I said, " Yes..."

He doesn't believe me so he gallops back out to look, and, of course, I had installed them correctly--in less than one minute--because I HAD READ THE DIRECTIONS!

Why are men congenitally incapable of reading the manufacturers directions that come with almost everything? You'd think the people who make things and sell them might have a fair idea of how to put them together. Not always, but usually.

LOL Are you married to my dh? I swear the man NEVER reads directions! When he was installing our mount for the tv on the wall, I had to take dd out to the store because he was turning MY ears red with the language!(I was raised by a sailor, so you KNOW it was bad!!! LOL)

Oh sounds like my husband!  I just let him do all those things tell he gets mad and gives up then he well listen to me.  I dont even try before then.  Also the same goes for when they drive!  You must be there to play navagator!  Or they insist on driving the whole way on a trip till they get to the worst part of the driving then tell you "Its your turn to drive"  after the bad parts over its their turn again!
