Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
Okay, well, I'm too lazy to look to see where I left off at this point, but here are the books I finished by my birthday Feb 26th- (Didn't finish Stolen Lives or The Mighty . . . so that put me at 36, overlapped The Last . . . so I think I made it to 47? Not bad!)
Jennifer Murdley's Toad by Bruce Coville-I love his books, sure, they're for grade school kids, but he is awesome!
The Great Gilly Hopkins by Katherine Paterson-again, love this author, this book itself was okay, not my fav of hers, but still worth reading.
The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews Edwards-love her! The book was fun and interesting.
The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden-interesting, tied up a little too quick and neat for me, but, again, kids' book.
The Great Brain by John D. Fitzgerald-kinda reminded me of Tom Sawyer (the huckster character), not bad, kinda funny.
Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich-okay, so I don't normally read this kind of popular fiction, but, I have to admit, it was a pretty entertaining murder mystery (a Stephanie Plum novel).
Coming Out by Danielle Steel-Okay, I liked the story, kind of and could get the conflict here, but maybe 20 years ago when I was reading her books regularly she was a better writer or maybe my tastes have become more sophisticated, but there was something about her style that grated on me.
Playing it Cool by Joaquin Dorfman--I kinda liked this book, it was interesting how this kid who thought he could fix everyone else's problems gets into a bit of a jam and eventually realizes that he's not as together as he thinks he is and that's okay.....
I may have missed or overlapped some. I'll post and then try to come up with a total for the year. Thanks for all your help with the book lists!....
