2009-2010 Goal
Same goal-50 books in the year until I reach that goal some year (Okay, if my math was right, I think I read about 47 books, so we could say that was close enough to bump up to 60 for this year . . .) and then I can move on to 60, 70 . . . I'm starting with the same list too since there were a lot of good suggestions, the books just didn't make it to my desk, feel free to keep suggesting!
So far I've read:
Men Without Women by Ernest Hemingway-a collection of short stories. Honestly, I didn't "get" most of them, but they were interesting anyway.
The Master Puppeteer by Katherine Paterson-again, love her. Interesting look at Japanese culture during a difficult time in history.
Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner-read In Her Shoes, enjoyed it-LOVED this book. It's about 4 new moms and I could pretty much relate to all of them in different ways. Ya laugh, ya cry, it's a good book.
Size 12 is Not Fat by Meg Cabot-another author I love. This was a great mystery and she is just a clever writer.
I'm still reading The Mighty and the Almighty by Madeleine Albright, slow progress as it's at someone else's house, but it's interesting
Also got almost ½ way through Three Cups of Tea . . . but had to return it as it was being held. So far it's pretty good! I'll have to re-reserve it.
Going to start reading Waiting by Debra Ginsberg today or tomorrow.
See, I knew I'd forget something--I read Eat Cake on the ride up for my FIL's funeral. Great book, good timing. Got me to thinking about a change of life plan :-)
