Emmy has always loved her crib. Basically wont sleep any where but in her crib. Makes trips a nightmare with her crying herself to sleep because she is just miserable without her crib - no I forgot to bring her playpen.
In her crib, she will wake up and play by herself for at least an hour before calling for Mom or Dad to come get her. Naps she will usually play in her crib and either eventually fall asleep or tell us she is "Done". Either way, she is rested.
Her Daddy decided it was time to make the crib a toddler bed so that she could go lay down whenever she wanted throughout the day. I caved in because she is 21 mos old and he is usually right.
The first night she fell asleep in Daddy's arms in the spare bed and I carried her into her bed later on. She slept throughout the night in her bed. The next day she refused to take a nap unless I slept in there with her. Don't try picturing me (5'11") crawled up in a toddler bed, it will make you bust a gut. That night she fell asleep on the couch with Daddy and he carried her to bed. The next day we were running around all day so she didnt get a chance to nap, but she went right to sleep when we carried her to bed. Last night she fell asleep in the car was carried to bed so basically the whole toddler bed transition has been easy....
I actually got tears the other day because it doesnt seem like that many days ago she was sleeping in our bed and I kept waking up to check her breathing, then we put her in the bassinet and I would sleep with my hand on her to check her breathing, then she went to the crib and I would check on her throughout the night to check her breathing... NOW she is sleeping in a bed... I refuse to think about her college days... wahhhhhhhhh
At least Laurel is just now starting to sleep in the crib...

They grow up so fast! We switched Lily to twin when we moved in November and at first she looked so tiny in that big bed. Transitioning from a crib to a bed is such a big step.
