I am so depressed right now I cannot even cry.  My dd has been through so much in the last few months.  I wanted to do something really terrific for her so I booked a flight to Florida.  While waiting for the flight, it was announced that they had upgrades available so I jumped on that and we flew business class.  Big comfy seats and fligh attendants asking if we wanted anything.  It was awesome.  We got to FL 25 minutes ahead of schedule and got our luggage, then we headed over to the rental cars and got a silver Sebring convertible.  What a car!  Couldn't put the top down because our luggage was too big in the trunk, but that's ok, we have all week. We get to grandma's house and say hello.  Take the luggage in and put the top down, head for the store for supplies.  She was smiling SO big, we are talking about how this is the coolest thing ever.  Just the two of us, sun, convertible....

Next morning she wakes up feeling off but goes for a jog.  We go out to lunch and she is coughing.  Give her lots of water and she seems ok.  By 7PM she has a fever of 102.3!  Next morning we head to an urgent care center...viral infection.  Fever spikes between 100 and 102 for the next 2 days.  Down to 100 by Monay but she is coughing SO much she feels like poo.  She doesn't want to see the dr again unless it is our dr back home.  I am SO familiar with the inside of Walgreen's!  I keep trying to find SOMETHING that will help her feel better.  By our last day in town she is afraid to enjoy the sun and temp because then we will head back to rainy PA and she's afraid she'll get sick all over again.

So a week in sunny FL and she spent the entire time inside grandma's house sick as a dog!  Now she has to deal with flying while not feeling well tomorrow.  This was supposed to be the BEST vacation ever and it has sucked!  I just want to cry!sickcrying

I am sorry sweetie! It always seems like things bite us in the butt when we go the extra mile. I do hope she feels better soon.

Sometimes, a vacation can be as simple as making an fort out of sheets and card board boxes. Or having lunchables in front of the tv while watching movies then have snacks and ice cream for later. Its what I used to do for my kids when they were small. Its Kids night and such a release from the normal routine. Hence chalk this one up to a bad time and thus helping you to make another time more so special. Good luck

Have a great day!:)
