Oh this is a simple one...we home school and the question I HATE is "But what about socialization??" Usually ask by someone who doesn't know a thing about home schooling, know my children or even know how very little true 'socialization' happens at public school.
BUT I have learned to stay calm and answer them trying to remember we may be the only home schooling family they know and wanting them to understand my children are probably have better social skills with a wide range of ages than most children their age. That is because my kids are socialized at the local nursing home, day care center, dance studio, YMCA swim team, church, youth group, football team and cheer leading squad....where they are exposed to many ages not just their peer group (although they get plenty of that).

I have asked that question myself. Not because I was judging, but because I was curious. How can people find out the benifits and draw backs of home schooling without talking to some one who does it? I did not know this offended people, guess I will just keep my questions to myself in the future. Thanks for letting me and people like me know that this is socially unacceptable.
Jamiemolihan, it depends on HOW you ask. Many times people are pretty snide when asking this question.
If you are interested, I'd be glad to recommend some books about homeschooling and socialization. :-)
Most home schooling families I know don't mind talking about home schooling but when the first question is that...not the truly important issue---education then it does become a little annoying.
AND as mancosmamma stated it often HOW you ask....
