My life and my handmade life!

http://living.aol.com/morning-rush/bully-cide-the-early-show/18831700001

I was tormented by bullies at school, and my sister too...

We were never given a chance to even let people know how cool we really were... kids can be brutal...  And very uncaring.

It is my personal opinion that methods of parenting (ie: if you bully your kids, they bully other kids) are responsible for school bullies and kids behavioir in school.

Anyway, I know that one day my kid will be bullied too... and it scares me.. I know how it will hurt, and I know I will hurt for her....

So, I was wondering Whats everyones thoughts on bullying ?

were you bullied?  are your kids? what can be done about it?  How can we teach our children to handle it?  How can our kids protect themselves from bullies?

Really just wanting to hear all thoughs...

I think everyone experiences some form of bullying in their lifetime. It stinks. I also think it is a situation that requires "tattling"...it is not something that should go on with adult intervention (especially nowadays). Thanks for passing on the link, that's so sad. Here's one on putting a stop to bullying. There are some great ideas and suggestions on this site!

So sad. I can't say I got too much bulling when I was younger, more I got made fun of because I was so short . I am very much against this type of behavior. I have always told my boys never ever treat someone like that and they never had. I get mad if they "joke" around with a friend and say something hurtful. Just not acceptable. They know that if they ever have a problem and they can not handle it or if it gets out of hand to tell the me, the teacher, counselor etc. Open communication is best.

I remember getting a call from my sons princible (he was new and didn't know anyone) He told me my youngest (at the time was in 2nd grade) punched a boy in the face and they would take action blah blah blah. I told him there must be a mistake. There must have been some sort of reason for him to act this way. I said ask anyone, his teachers etc. My son is very well liked and a pussy cat. Found out that he had been punched, shoved down and kicked by another boy (who everyone knew was a bully) and my son had enough and clocked him one! That boy  had alot of trouble throughout the years and from what I've heard is now in a military school. Gee what does that say about our military???? LOL!
