Well it's quite funny that this topic should come up because my husband and I just had to make a pretty huge decision. Usually I weigh my options, see if it can wait or if it's urgent, think of the whole aspect, and if I do wait will it help more.
The decision my husband and I made is a pretty simple one but it's still a huge topic. You see, I'm going to go to colege in the fall. I'll be going for 1 year so Fall 2009-Fall 2010. My husband will be leaving sometime at the begining of 2010 for war. So for about 6-10 months I'll be going to school without him with me. I've been thinking maybe I can just wait until he comes back, then I'll start school. However I know the longer I wait the less chance I'll have at success. (This isn't the huge decision.)
My husband doesn't have any children of his own, just my son anthony, and they love each other just like father and son. But Charles wasn't there for Anthony to watch him grow up, Anthony was already 2 by the time we had met. So ever since we got married in September 2008, we've been talking about having kids and we came to an agreement that we'll just wait until he comes back home from his first tour.
Well, Charles brought it to my attention 3 days ago that I need to get my IUD removed in may because I have had it in for 3 years. It kind of shocked me but the look in his eyes were so hopefull. I started thinking about college and having a baby and my DH being in the war and not being able to see the birth.
When my son Anthony was born I was a freshman in HS and his father couldnt be there due to my mother hating him and his family. So yeah, I have had a baby in school before, I have given birth while I was going to school, so it's nothing new, but I'd rather not go through that again. I've had the heartbreak before. So Charles and I have decided that I'm going to get my IUD removed in may and in June I'll get another one put it. If something happens between May and June then we'll be able to handle it, but waiting is our best chance.
