I have two children - a boy, 6 and a girl, 4.  Our neighbor has a daughter who is 7.  Years ago, they  went to daycare together and the little girl was a terror.

The kids are all is school now, but they go to different schools.  The little girl feels the need to be at my house daily.  Her parents obviously has no regard for etiquette, nor do they respect my need to not babysit for them on a daily basis.  However, my daughter really enjoys playing with her and she is much better behaved now that she is medicated - the neighbor.

The biggest problem is that I can't stand this little girl, and I don't want to be unfair to her or behave badly in front of my own children because she irritates me so.  I teach bloods and crips, for Christ's sake, and I'd rather spend an afternoon with them than with this little 7 year old girl!

What should I do?  This little girl shows up on my doorstep constantly.  And I have the feeling she wants to play with my children's things more than she wants to play with my children.  UGH!

had to laugh about preferring the gangbangers over the lil girl.  I feel that same way about one of Eve's friends...the kid makes my sin crawl.  ugh.
OK, so either you hide when she rings the bell, you make scarce, or you tell her she can only come over on such&such days (like tues/thurs)  b/c you have other things going on that she can't be around for.  you can also call the mom and ask her if your kids can come play there one day since little Sadie O'Masochist has been at your house so many times.  ( i could never do that, but am throwing it out there for u)
This is why i don;t teach elementary...I don;t like little kids.  i love my own...but frankly, other people's little kids suck.

i have hidden when i heard the doorbell; she's relentless!

i don't want to give her specific days to come because well, i don't want her to come at all!

and her parents don't allow company - not that i would leave them alone there.

i've decided that margaritas help me tolerate her.  and i pray.
