why do people think that spanking is discipline!!!??

Discipline
to bring to a state of order and obedience by training and control.
spanking is not discipline and discipline is not punishment. Discipline is a punishment prevention!
get it right people. If you want to "spank" your kids fine but call it what it is, punishment.
