Good Friday

 This Lenten season has been a very special one for me and my family. I am going through the RCIA process to become Catholic. Tomorrow night at Easter Vigil, I will receive the Sacraments of Conditional Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion. This journey has completely changed our family. Our faith is stronger than it has ever been. I know I feel closer to God now than I ever have in my entire life. Before this experience, I didn't really understand just how important Holy Week was. I see now what I was missing. I feel guilty that I never took it too seriously. That was then and this is now.

The following is from  five minutes with the Word Lent 2009:

Today we commemorate the greatest act of love in the whole of human history: the cross of Jesus Christ. Bow in reverence as you contemplate the full meaning of this holy day, when the Son of God became so incredibly poor so that we could become unspeakably rich.

Pray..."Jesus, on this Good Friday I join with the saints in heaven to mourn what my sin did to you, but also to rejoice in what your love did for me. May this litany be in my heart today: Cross of Jesus, purify me. Blood of Jesus, cleanse me. Wounds of Jesus, heal me. Love of Jesus, free me. Mercy of Jesus, forgive me"

Thanks for sharing this! I will be with you in spirit tomorrow during your profession of faith. I am filled with such joy for you on this beautiful journey you are beginning.
