I have a question for anyone who believes in a higher power- any higher power-

So, is this higher power, perfect?

What does perfect mean?

I'm asking this because in another journal it was said that God (Judeo-Christian) is a jealous god.

So I'm very confused about this- if God is perfect, then what's with the jealousy?  If God is perfect, why does God need us to worship him?  That sounds like pride.  In fact, why did God make us in the first place?  What purpose would we serve a perfect being?   And why wouldn't a perfect being create other perfect beings, instead of imperfect ones who screw up all the time?

If God is perfect, what does he need us for?

And what of this "Free Will" ?  If we have free will, and we use it to do things that God thinks are bad, and we get punished for it, do we really have free will?  Do we really have a choice?

"Do what I want you to or spend eternity in torment".  Where's the choice?

Thanks ahead of time... especially if you don't say, "We can't know this now, only God knows".  Because I think I might delete posts that say that.  I want a real answer, not one that uses faith as an excuse.

So, is this higher power, perfect?  I believe he had to have the obstacles of trials just like we have to have-

What does perfect mean?  Dont know that answer,  maybe perfect in knowledge in right and wrong.

I'm asking this because in another journal it was said that God (Judeo-Christian) is a jealous god. i dont believe he is.  I think he is a loving God that wants us to learn all the things we can so we can understand each other better and when another person has a challenge or a hardship we can be the ones that say " hey I had that happen to me and you will be fine but lets talk about it. . ."Now we are comforting eachother and lifting eachother.

If God is perfect, why does God need us to worship him?  He dosent need us to.  Anyone that thinks God needs us for anything does not understand what he is about.

That sounds like pride.  In fact, why did God make us in the first place?  Thats a great question and i believe when we are born we forget what we knew/know and have to learn from there.  With new experiences-If we knew everything on this earth we would not have to have experiences and thus we would not be challenged in this life to work hard and do more.  Humility and service for others and knowledge for ourselves.

What purpose would we serve a perfect being?   And why wouldn't a perfect being create other perfect beings, instead of imperfect ones who screw up all the time?Who says we are screwing up.  Saying that in seriousness.  Maybe we are just learning really slowly the lessons God thinks everyone needs to know.  But not just know-experience and by experience we can share our knowledge with others.  After all we all have different experiences and none are the same. Also, maybe part of His plan is to have these children on earth and gove them the tools they need and be the one to help educate.  Maybe his plan means he has to get us back to him at the end.

If God is perfect, what does he need us for?  He does not need us but i believe there is a bigger plan for each of us.  One we may not remember or even know but its there.  Have you ever had an experience where you go through it and on the other side of that experience you go  "hey so that is how that works"  But all through that time you grumbled and moaned about how hard life right now was.  I dont know if that makes sense but it does in my head

And what of this "Free Will" ?  If we have free will, and we use it to do things that God thinks are bad, and we get punished for it, do we really have free will?  Do we really have a choice?     I do not believe we are punished. When things happen they happen 1 because of choices of us and others and 2 with those choices we are edified.   i think that we have a choice in everything we do.  We also have effects in all we do good or bad.

"Do what I want you to or spend eternity in torment".  Where's the choice? The choice is in how you live your life and what you learn.  Did you help those in need?  That is what I believe.  I dont think if you slip or you have questions or are not following blindly then you will be sent to damnation-There is no way a loving God will say off to the fire.  I think he would work to still get us back with him. I think there is no way he would give up on us if we are trying and are making an effort to know what ever it is we need to know to know him.

think we know

Thanks ahead of time... especially if you don't say, "We can't know this now, only God knows".  Because I think I might delete posts that say that.  I want a real answer, not one that uses faith as an excuse.

I think we know more then we think we do.  i think we have been desensitized and we have self doubt and we also stop listening to that little voice.  I think its a vice of instruction of life and helps us with choices that will benefit us most.  I think that we are spiritual beings having an earthly experience.

Not sure if i helped but your question intrigued me and i had to answer.
