Gothic/Punk Mama To Three Angels

I first purchased a dozen skeins of Reynold's Cabana in white, purple, green, and blue because it was on clearance at Creative Fibers in Windsor, CT.  I had the thought of making it all into a blanket.  I thought of squares but that never inspired me enough to actually form the blanket into reality.

Then I saw my friend Lee making this beautiful blanket at our friday night knitalong.  I found the yarn within my stash and cast on.  My daughter Annie found out that I was making this for her and was enamoured by the enew creation.  As I moved the stitches along she would come in and out of my room to watch me make her blanket.  She would visit it and pet it.  It was obvious that she loved the blanket and appreciated the love that I was putting into it.

The project just became bigger and bigger and finally did not fit on my largest needle any longer.  I asked Dan if I could borrow his largest Addi Clicks needle and finish the blanket.  We carefully removed the cloak he had been working on and put it onto scrap yarn for safe keeping.  I finished up the blue section and tried to add in a green section.  But a few rows in it was obvious that the green did not coordinate with the other colors in the blanket and I tore it back.  I added in a white border and bound it all off.

I returned home and handed the blanket to Annie who was overjoyed.  She had me pin it onot her as a cape and ran about the house it it with pride.  We had to go to dance and she wore it like a jacket for everyone to see.  Everyone was amazed at the finished product and complimented me on it.  That is always nice.

Very pretty! Great job!

I don't think I would ever have the patience to do something like that!
