I live in Murfreesboro, Tn.  We were hit by multiple tornados on Friday.  The one that hit the heart of the city was an EF3.  A 25 year old woman and her 9 week old daughter were killed.  The baby was found secured in her car seat.  The father was injured and about 50 others.  100 house are completely gone and 150+ more are damaged; many beyond repair.  It hit about a mile from my house.  The kids and I were home alone, so we bunkered down it the both for about 2 hours.  It was an eerie sound; like constant thunder.  Our power was out for over six hours.  My cell phone had not charged the night before and I only had 2 bars left.  I just prayed it wouldn't die.  But it was almost impossible to get a call in or out anyway.  Barrett (my husband) works at a local news radio Station.  They were on the air seven hours straight.  He had people calling, try to connect with other people, people saying thanks, you saved my life.  A lady from up north found the station on the net and called to check on some friends.   He did call us.  He said "I'm sorry, this may be selfish but my family is in that area and I have to call them.  Dalton answered and Barrett said that was the best sound he ever heard.  (Dalton took care of his sister, Bobbye Sue and I.)  A friend of mine was working right across the street and said they were hiding under desks, had people getting phone calls saying the houses.  It was a holiday; many kids were out of school and people couldn't reach them.  She said people were passing out, having seizures, wailing.  As bad as it was, it's truly a miracle more people did not die.  We live in a great community and people are stepping up to help.  Many people have said; "Yes, we've lost everything, but thank God my family alive."  Please just pray that this strengthen our town and brings us together.  It's a medium size town and most of us in some way or another know someone who has been affected by this.

I'm sorry.  I'm glad you are okay and the death toll wasn't higher.
