Confessions of a SuperMom

I'm not perfect. But they sure think so.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon to stop using harsh chemicals to clean our home. Why?

1.       I can't understand why cleaning products can lean on the pricey side yet they don't always clean the way I need/want them to.

2.       I hate some of the smells that linger after I have cleaned. It's either too strong while I clean and I'm forced to wear a face mask or the smell is ridiculously annoying afterward.

3.       I sometimes feel guilty when using harsh chemicals. Either because I think they are harming my kids OR they are harming the trees in my yard (not sure how my toilet and sink water affect my trees). I'm getting a little eco-sensitive.

This thought was provoked by my frantic search to find a solution that would shine my really gross and outdated bathroom fixtures. We have yet to update our bathrooms. Beneath my kitchen sink cabinet I found a nearly empty bottle of Windex cleaner with Vinegar. When the hell did I buy this? Whatever. I heard Vinegar makes things shiny and cleans a ton of germs and is great on salad. Off to the bathroom sink and toilet we go.

TA DA!!!!!!!!

My really yucky bathroom sink and tub fixtures are no longer yucky. They're now fabulously shiny and outdated! That solution also cleaned my toilet to a sparkle. Took out a stain in the grout, and - is it true? I can not believe my nose.... It left NO SMELL!

So post cleaning euphoria, I Googled ‘cleaning with vinegar' and stumbled upon this nifty little site - Vinegar Tips that lists endless ways to use vinegar and baking soda and the reasons why.

LOVE IT!

My next shopping trip - must purchase 6 reusable spray bottles (kitchen, each bathroom, laundry room and garage), new role of labels for label maker and about 2 BJ size bottles of white distilled vinegar. Um...maybe now I can grow and herb that I can add water to and spray after a wipe down... Suggestions?

I clean with a vinegar and water solution a lot.  I do it because I don't want to expose my family (and soon-to-be-born baby) to potentially dangerous chemicals and for the environment.  Good for you!

I use eco-friendly products for cleaning my home!  It's much better for everyone and the environment too!  Vinigar is also a great cleaner :)
