I have found my anthem! Everyone should have one - a song that describes what you are all about at that moment of time. I had one in college. My DJ friends would play it once they saw me in the club. Sort of like saying hi! And its not T-shirt and Panties!
Most of you know I am going through some life changes. But you know what, I am so grateful for this "stuff" because it helped me realize that I, Candice, became lost. I lost my spunk from high school;
when I was know as CandiGram and my charm and seduction from college. I use to be able to leave a man drooling with one look.
In the past some-odd years I became passive, quiet and shy even and I can't think of any other word than to describe me than "DOORMAT". I became, said and did what was expected of me. I took on the roles in which I was assigned - Faye's Daughter, Erlin's eldest Granddaughter, Justin's and Candra's big sister, Mrs. David George, Hailey's and now Camryn's mom. I'm not saying that it was a bad thing nor do I blame anybody but in all this I forgot about me and my identity. So now I am reclaiming Candice. I can be all of these while being ME in all of my hippie,
"You don't own me
I'm not juss one of your many toys
you don't own me
don't say I cant go with other boys
bababababababaaaaa
DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO
AND DONT TELL ME WHAT TO SAY
AND WHEN I GO OUT WIHT YOU
DONT PUT ME ON DISPLAY
you don't own me
don't try to change me in any way
you don't own me
don't drag me down ,
cuz ill never stay
I don't tell you what to say
I don't tell you what to do
SO JUST LET ME BE MYSELF
that's all I ask from you"
