Believe it or not the guy who is my boss now has been the best boss I have had at my current job of 5 years. But lately he has been a huge dink.
I was out for two days for Easter holiday. The Thursday before I was to be the only person in the office and had TONS of stuff I had to get done. Including trying to figure out what the boss had or hadn't to be more accurate done for this week's press conference.
But no he calls me first thing and tells me I HAVE to be at this seminar in the next county for the entire afternoon. First off who the heck holds a seminar the afternoon before a holiday? Second, I've taken this seminar already. BE THERE is what I was told. I went.
Well today find out that he did not do the press release or press packet for the press conference on Thursday. Nor has he contacted the media in any of the three counties this is effecting. I have been buried today trying to get this all done.
Then he comes in this afternoon and says which papers are coming to the press conference. I said I had a maybe from one and talked with Publisher of another but no confirmation any would be there. He gets mad and tells me I need to do my job better. How the heck am I suppose to do the job better when I have no idea I'm suppose to be doing it. I can't read is freaking mind.
Then he asks for the one Publishers phone number. He has it in his rolodex but is too "important" to look it up there. I give him the guys private line. He comes back and says "it doesn't work." To which I reply "really because I talked to him just 5 minutes ago on that line." Now he wants the direct line to the paper, I give it to him. He comes back..."YOUR WRONG, no one answers that number." I'm ticked now, so I pull out the phone book, look up the paper and show him that it is indeed the correct number.
He throws my briefcase on the floor (I have two desks in my office) and sits down and dials the number again to prove to me I'm wrong. LOW and BEHOLD, the receptionist answers this time on the 2nd ring and he leaves a message for the Publisher.
He gets up to leave--doesn't pick up my briefcase or even apologize for his behavior and starts to walk out. I'm really ticked now. He stops as if he is going to say something to me again then turns to walk away without saying anything. So, I say "Your such a dink, I told you that was the correct number." He stops for a moment looks at me and walks out.
What a tool! I'm so done with his attitude, the place and this freaking job!
