We love to go on nature walks. ![]()
It's good not only for learning about our enviroment, but we also get much needed excercise as a family and hopefully are instilling good health habits into our children for the long term.
I like taking the kids to the beach/bay shore... ![]()
We do things like having picnic lunch or dinner, blowing bubbles, playing with kites, doing sidewalk chalk drawings, building sandcastles, and looking for seashells on the shoreline.
There is a beautiful area we frequent at the beach/bayshore that has amazing jungle gyms to play on, and the kids have a blast everytime we go. ![]()
You can also swim there and soon the water will be warm enough to enjoy a dip!
We find live sand dollars, and lots of other sea life there, so it's a great learning experience for the kids as well.
The shoreline is an ever changing enviroment which presents lots of different opportunities for learning and educational fun!
We also like to toss around frisbee's, take our nature walks around trails and such, and create art projects with some of the found objects we encounter along the way.
(The last time I visited the shoreline, we collected shells and 'water colored' them to make a collage 3D sculpture with!)
Basically any time it's nice out and not too hot here in Florida ---we are out enjoying mother nature in all her glory!![]()
(Plus we have a 2 hour a day rule in our house to 'tune out' from the digital world, and 'tune in' to mother nature and all the wonderful things this 'big world' has to offer!)
That's the sort of activities we like to do as a family when it's nice out! --- In Florida we have alot of opportunities for great outside time, thanks to a usually nice weather environment!
