I am an Entrepreneur, singer, actress, artist, crafter, volunteer,  author, girlfriend and Mom... but never in that order. I always say that we are like wells,  we go back to the well over and over but if we never ask for rain... eventually we dry up and have nothing left to give.  It's taken me 38 years to figure that out completely. Lets hope that others are quicker studies than I am.

That's right I'm 38 years old and I have finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I'm doing it now in fact. I write  and I craft and I use my insights and knowledge to help others reach for their dreams. I use my creativity as me time... as a healthy outlet  it's kind of like reading or running for some of you. And it's what I do for a job. It's funny, for years I pined for something I could do out of my home while making jewellry, sculpting, writing,  painting, sketching or even doing intuitive readings.  Then one day a friend of mine and I decided we would do something about it. We had talents and gifts that we could share with the world...  so why not.

Last May day we officially became Out of the Broom Closet. We had hoped to eventually become a cafe bookstore,( we haven't given up that hope yet,) however we have chosen to start small.  We don't have a lot of disposable cash.  Like a lot of Mom's out there we have a little that we can put into our hobbies, so we did, saving enough to take our wares to market, get a table and make a cash float.

We have been doing this for about 2 years now and are coming up on our aniversary soon.   We are growing.  The job is great.  We make our own hours and if we are overworked it's on our own heads. No boss to blame but us.  This works nicely with growing children.  Sometimes my eleven year old even pitches in.

If you have a creative bent and want something  that may earn you a little extra cash.  Look around at gift stores, markets, and the like.  you may find that something you do is out there being sold and market may be an idea that you can do. worried about the time way from the little ones? Try an online presence.  They get your work out there and available to the public without you leaving the house.

This is not for those who want a lot of money fast.  You will stress and worry if you go in with that idea.  This is a gift that you give to yourself and a labour of love.  It's about liking what you do and fitting it in with family life. Using your talents in a productive way and enjoying yourself while earning a bit of pocket change.  Remember there are two of us so we can diversify our stock, you may want to stick with one or two items. I hear hats for dread locks are very popular as they prevent dread rot... no joke People who have dreads want to keep them healthy.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there are a million ideas out there and not all the great themes have theme parks... you just need to find your product and your unique spin.
