Just been a great day for my son Douglas all around...

So as I stated in my previous post Douglas took and passed his GED today. He also found out that if he took theACT and scored well on them he could qualify for a Pell Grant adn be in college this time next year. He was really excited to hear that. But then on the wy home his cell phone rang. He and his church youth group had gone to a convention in Indianapolis 2 weeks ago hosted by Ron Luce. they all put their names in a bucket for a mission trip to Scotland paid in full except for passport fees and spending money while doing the trip. They pay for airfare, food, hotel, everything else. Now if you are not familiar with Ron Luce you can find a ton of info along with the mission trips he takes with these teenagers on www.acquirethefire.com  . Anyway there was about 30000 youth in attendance at that rally and they were drawing 10 names. Doug's name was drawn. Unfortunately our income is not at the point where we could send him overseas with spending cash rightnow so he turned it down. But I was so excited that he got chosen. I told him maybe next year we can afford to allow him to go on the trip to another mission field. I am just so excited at the growth I see in him and his growth in God... It has just been an awesome day all the way around for us...

Well that is all wonderful news! Congrats to Doug on all his success. Hard work really does pay off.
