"People think my son is a monster, He is not" - Thomas Gallo, Father of
drunk driver Andrew Gallo, who hit and killed Anaheim Angels pitcher
Nick Adenhart.
While Andrew may not be a monster in your eyes,
because as parents we want to think the best of our children, he is a
monster in the eyes of America. Why? He made the deadly choice to drink
so much that he not only hit and killed people in another vehicle, but
he made the conscious choice to leave the scene of the accident
knowingly. He made the conscious choice to drink so much he was over
three times the legal blood alcohol limit and consciously get behind
the wheel of a car knowing his actions were illegal.
This was not
his first DUI, luckily for him the first time no one was killed. He had
no license because he made the choice to get behind the wheel of a car
after drinking before and got caught.
So essentially he got behind
the wheel of a car he had no business driving because he had no license
and he killed 3 people and seriously injured a 4th.
If that is not a monster, I don't know what Mr. Thomas Gallo considers a monster.
The possible 55 years in prison would not nearly be enough punishment for his actions.
